From bag packs to firewalks, mountain climbs to bake sales, the ways people fundraise for Mahdlo can take many different forms! Bill Badham will be embarking on a trip in September that will be challenging and exciting, and will raise vital funds for our Youth Zone – he will be cycling from Nottingham to Croatia, which is nearly 1400 miles!

Bill said:

“After years of taking on cycling challenges, this year I will traverse 10 countries in 2 weeks. I am heading off on 2 September from Nottingham up to Hull and across on the ferry to Zeebrugger and then heading south by south east through Belgium, Luxemburg, eastern France, south western Germany, Austria, touching the north east of Italy, crossing Slovenia, down the ridge of Croatia, crossing briefly through Bosnia Herzegovina and arriving all being well in Dubrovnik 1346 miles later on Thursday 15 September. I have occasionally booked some cheap accommodation and other nights I’ll find what I can wherever I get to.

Passionate about young people and them having the best chances and opportunities possible, it is no surprise then that I have come to know and enjoy working with Mahdlo (Oldham’s Youth Zone), sharing in the young people’s successes, ably supported by a great team and backed by a great organisation.”

For our Senior Zone members, there will be an opportunity to meet Bill and get involved with the campaign on Friday 19th August during the evening session and then we’ll be holding some fun cycling challenges throughout the duration of Bill’s trip!
