Our first Media Production course with OliBo Media is underway! A group of Senior Mahdlo members have been working with the local company on an eight week ‘An Insight into Music Production and Promotion’ course and we’re so excited to see what they produce.
The course is a unique opportunity for young people to not only perform and play music, but to learn about the business side of the industry from established professionals. The group started by learning about what it takes to set up a record label and decided amongst themselves who would like to take what roles – from singing to marketing, video production to performer rights, they have the opportunity to gain invaluable skills and experience that match their areas of interest.
Just last night the group were in the OliBo studios, recording vocals for their single. It’s sounding fantastic and they will soon start planning the shoot for the accompanying video. One of the group who is particularly interested in music production will gain over 20 hours work experience with Olibo through assisting with the post-production and mastering processes.
The next Media Production course is ‘An Insight Into Filmmaking’ and will give participants professional practical experience with filming, recording and editing equipment.
