Mahdlo member Edith Smith (11) has continued to impress with her climbing skills and has qualified for the Youth Climbing Series National Finals in Edinburgh on April 29th. This is the third consecutive year that Edith has qualified for the National Finals and she is aiming for a top 10 place this year! Edith attributes her love of climbing to https://www.mahdloyz.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Design-our-minibus.png as it was here that she first tried climbing:
“On the day of my 8th birthday, I started going to the Junior Zone and the climbing wall was the first thing I went on, having tried it in the family sessions. The climbing instructors there built up my confidence and helped me with my climbing techniques. If it wasn’t for the climbing instructors at Mahdlo I wouldn’t have taken up climbing as a sport.”
Edith still regularly attends our Junior Zone and Family Zone sessions and she particularly enjoys spending time in the gym as well as using the climbing wall.
