On Friday 19th September, 14 teams gathered at the impressive Saddleworth Golf Course in support of Mahdlo, raising over £4000! Teams were made up of local businesses, Mahdlo patrons, golf enthusiasts and community leaders who were keen to get their hands on the winners’ trophy and help raise funds to support the work we do.
The Golf Day was sponsored by SMB a franchise of O2. Carl Taylor, Head of SMB in Oldham added “We decided to support Mahdlo again this year by supporting with the Golf Day. The event enables key businesses from around Oldham and the North West to come together, have some fun and see what a difference Mahdlo are making in the local community. We are creating a long term relationship with Mahdlo and hopefully we can continue to raise much needed funds to enable them to keep making a difference to young peoples lives in Oldham.”
After a day on the course, everyone enjoyed a well earned drink in the bar followed by a dinner and prize giving. The winning trophy went to the team entered by a famous local hero, Paul Scholes. Our Community Development Manager Claire Crossfield said, “This is a huge hole in one for us having someone like Paul agreeing to take part. He’s a huge supporter of our young people and the centre and we are delighted that he’s getting involved.”
