Over the past few months, our Junior Zone members have experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity and have been working with renowned Oldham artist Kevin Haynes to create a unique piece of art.
Not only is the painting a unique piece by a brilliant local artist, it will features words from the new novel by legendary actress and writer, Sheila Hancock CBE. A passage from ‘Miss Carter’s War’ describes Oldham and the text struck a cord with Kevin who contacted Ms. Hancock and was granted permission to incorporate the words into the work!
The artwork will be revealed at a special event on Tuesday 24th March to friends, partners and patrons of Mahdlo. Alongside limited edition signed prints, the ‘Mahdlo masterpiece’ will be auctioned off to raise funds to keep our youth zone doors open and accessible to all young people in Oldham.
There are limited places available at the event, and anyone interested in attending should contact Claire Crossfield on 0161 785 3862 or fundraising@mahdloyz.org
