On Monday 3rd October, three members of the Alternative Provision group at Mahdlo visited the studios of Revolution 96.2 on a trip organised as part of Peshkar’s Horizons project.
Horizons is a creative employability project that uses digital skills training to encourage young people to think about their future careers, see new opportunities they may not have considered before and hopefully re-engage with their education. This was the fourth week of the project and previously the group have worked with digital artists in a range of disciplines including film-making and sound design.
Revolution 96.2 are one of the partners on the project and this trip enabled young people to see the inner workings of a radio station, learn all about the different aspects of running the station, how radio works and write and produce their own 20 minute programme!
At the end of the project, each of the young people will have a digital portfolio of all the work they have produced in the project and will have achieved a Bronze Arts Award, a level one qualification.
