On Monday 11th September, we said a huge THANK YOU to our patrons and supporters at our annual Patrons Dinner. Guests enjoyed a three course meal whilst hearing from Mahdlo members, volunteers, parents and staff about the work that is made possible by their ongoing support of Mahdlo.
Our CEO, Mike Doran, introduced the theme of the evening:’PRIDE’, with each section of the event representing one of our core values:
Passion, Respect, Inclusion, Dependability, Excellence
Speakers included Young Ambassadors who spoke about their campaign to tackle Hate Crime, team members Dave and Miriam, who explained that their passion for Mahdlo is what gets them out of bed in the morning, and parent Kryshia Winkler, who described the positive impact Mahdlo has had on her children.

“Mahdlo is a dependable organisation for all young people. As Shaunine’s mum, I have watched her confidence grow. Mahdlo has given her a direction in life, it has given her a future.” – Kryshia Winkler
Guests were taught some sign language by Mahdlo team member, Bharti, who demonstrated how to introduce yourself in sign language and explained how important it is that the Youth Zone is an inclusive place for young people, staff and volunteers.
Our President, Sir Norman Stoller CBE KStJ DL, presented three young people with their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award certificates and praised their determination to succeed and achieve.
Once again, our Brownies group did a wonderful job of helping The White Hart team with food service and earning their Hostess badges, and the room was decorated with artwork made by our members.
