Over £2,000 has been raised by local people and businesses in support of Mahdlo’s ‘Buy a Bauble’ campaign. Baubles bought are being proudly displayed on the Christmas tree and feature the names of those who have generously donated. All money raised from this campaign will be used to provide a festive season of parties, fun and aspirational activities ensuring young people in Oldham have the best Christmas that they deserve.
Lucy Lees, Assistant CEO at Mahdlo, and brainchild behind the ‘Buy a Bauble’ campaign told us “Christmas is a really special time and we wanted to make sure our young people have a great time. Being able to display so many baubles with so many different names on shows our members just how much people care. The support we’ve received has been fantastic and I can’t thank people enough. There’s still space for more baubles on the tree and I’d urge people to get involved and help spread even more festive cheer.”
Claire Crossfield, Development Manager at Mahdlo, added “The baubles on the tree will be displayed until 2nd January and donations for baubles start just from £25, but any help people can give is greatly appreciated. We are making a real difference to over 5000 young people who are the future of our town. We could not do the tremendous work we do without the generous support of the local community.”
