On 30th November 3 members of Team Mahdlo will be taking the leap of faith as they step out of an aircraft at 15,000 feet to raise money for the Egerton Street based centre. The team will be made up of Mike Doran – CEO, Amanda Hamer – Get Outdoors Coordinator and Shaunine Firth – Youth Worker who together are aiming to raise £1,000. The 3 are paying for the trip themselves with all money raised being used support Mahdlo’s Get Outdoors offer which encourages young people to explore the great outdoors.
Amanda Hamer, told us “when I heard about this adventure, I thought why not! I’m always up for taking on new challenges and showing our members that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. I’m quite nervous, but remembering why I’m doing it and the young people relying on me makes it that little bit easier.”
Shaunine added “It’s always been on my list of things to do. I’ve been involved witgh Mahdlo for over 4 years firstly as a member and now I’m part of the team, doing this is just a small way for me to give something back. “
Mike also told us “I’m incredibly proud to be a part of such a fantastic team and I’m looking forward to taking on this challenge with Amanda and Shaunine to raise much needed funds for the charity. If anyone out there is as crazy as us or just wants to help and raise some money please get in touch.”
