Mahdlo is delighted to announce that its annual Winter Ball has raised a phenomenal £31,000 for the charity.
Almost 200 people from the Oldham business community and beyond gathered to celebrate Mahdlo and the achievements of its members whilst digging deep and helping to raise vital funds.
Staff from the Youth Zone put on a show to remember as Mahdlo was transformed for one night into Wonderland, showcasing an epic story highlighting the many ways in which Mahdlo supports young people in our area.
Alongside a suitably quirky three course meal (Mushrooms for dessert, anyone?) our audience were also treated to three exceptional performances from Mahdlo members.
First up was Milly who had the audience singing along in no time with her own hilarious spin on how to write a Christmas song.
Boris, AKA 3Bless, has been a member of Mahdlo since opening day almost 8 years ago. He gave an impassioned speech about the impact Mahdlo has had on him as a person and as a rap artist.

The night was then wrapped up in unbelievable style as Maddison, a member of Mahdlo’s Districts offer, took to the stage with a thunderous performance of Adele’s Skyfall that had our lucky audience members in raptures come the final notes.
With no auction and no raffle, the evening was designed very differently from the usual fundraiser ball. Instead, attendees were encouraged to buy numbered bricks from a wall, to help bring down the barriers our young people face, with the chance to win a prize. The bricks ranged from £20 – £500 with prizes including meals out, hotel stays, and a mop and bucket.
The wall alone raised £18,000 on the night, thanks to Barclays charitably agreeing to match fund what was raised up to £6,000.
