The much loved 3 Peaks of Saddleworth Walk will be returning on Saturday 2nd July 2022.
The event which has been running since 2016, has taken a firm spot as one of the our largest annual fundraising events, growing in popularity year on year with record numbers putting their best foot forward in 2021 raising an incredible £25,000!
The walk, which is around 15 miles, will take on local landmarks Indian’s Head, Pots and Pans and Wharmton Hill. The route is challenging, but achievable, and walkers are rewarded by some incredible views of Oldham and beyond.
Development Manager Claire Crossfield said
We are absolutely delighted that the 3 Peaks will be returning again this year. We’ve had so much interest already and are looking to make it bigger and better than last year. You can compete as part of a team, individually or even as a relay as a family, your four-legged friends are welcome too! It takes around 6 hours to complete and our team are on hand to make sure that everyone makes it to the finish line.
Chris Wareing, Chair at Mahdlo added:
I’ve taken part every year and persuaded our employees to enter a team resulting in them setting up a company walking group which has boosted morale and supports their mental health. I’d encourage everyone to sign up and take on this challenge and raise funds for Oldham’s young people, Let’s turn the hills of Saddleworth Yellow.
It’s just £25 to enter and Mahdlo are asking that participants commit to raising a minimum of £30. In return for signing up, walkers will receive a commemorative t-shirt, medal, breakfast, picnic, refreshments along the route, and post-walk food at The Royal George. You will also receive support for your fundraising efforts, including help with setting up your fundraising page, social media banners, sponsorship forms, etc.
