In August, seven of our members took on a huge challenge to raise money for Mahdlo – walking 65 miles along Hadrian’s Wall and raising over £1200!
The challenge was the group’s own idea and they planned and prepared for the trip with support from the team at Mahdlo, even spending two weekends doing bag packs at local supermarkets to fundraise towards the trip. In total, they walked an impressive 65 miles over the week, camping and staying in youth hostels along the way, and preparing all their own meals.
Shannon Green, said, “just finished the dream I once had thanks to the team at Mahdlo”, whilst Josh Green commented, “finished my walk , did well and made it right to end – thanks everyone for awesome week!”
Frankie Byrne, our Sports Development Coordinator couldn’t praise the group enough: “A fantastic effort this week! This group have really dug deep and pulled each other along. It’s been a huge achievement and something i’m sure we will not forget for years to come!”
A huge THANK YOU to Shannon Green, Emily Edwards, Aiden Broadbent, Josh Green, Ashford Bailey, Konrad Warburton, Lewis Saunders – amazing achievement everyone, you should be very proud of yourselves; we are!
