N Brown Group’s Shaw distribution factory has chosen Mahdlo as one of the beneficiaries of its 2017 Golf Day.
On Thursday, 7 September, teams will take to Brookdale Golf Course for a day of golf, dinner and raising funds for the local charity which provides support, activities and opportunities for young people aged 8-19 from across the borough.
Staff at N Brown’s distribution centre, whose online fashion brands included JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo, have already raised over £150 for Mahdlo with a raffle and sponsored ‘Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow’ event where Operations Manager Nick Walker was sponsored to have his hair cut off.
Head of Operations Manager John Wilson (pictured above) said: “Our golf day is a fantastic opportunity for colleagues past and present, local businesses and anyone else who loves golf to come along and have a great day with plenty of laughs along the way. It also gives us an ideal opportunity to raise money for local charities, and this year we are thrilled that Mahdlo will be with us on the day supporting the event”
Claire Crossfield, Mahdlo’s Development Manager, said: “Mahdlo aims to deliver high quality, innovative activities and experiences for young people from Oldham, to provide opportunities to raise aspirations and support young people to be the best they can be. We are open 7 days a week and membership is just £5 per year and 50p each visit. To keep Mahdlo open and accessible for all we rely on the support of the local business community – we are thrilled that N Brown Group are supporting Mahdlo with their golf day this year. Not only is it set to be a fantastic day for all involved, but it will raise vital funds to help us to continue our work.”
Places are still available at the golf day. The event takes place at Brookdale Golf Club on Thursday 7th September, and for just £50 per person (teams of up to 4), you get breakfast, a day of golf, prizes and three course dinner with guest speaker Dean Windass.
