Our Boishakhi celebration of Bengali New Year 2015 took place on 17th May and was attended by 400 families!
Everyone came together to celebrate the new year event with live dance performances, a theatre production showcasing Bengali history, and a traditional parade around the youth zone.
The families then had an opportunity to get involved in lots of fun activities including watching a chef give live demonstrations on fusion foods, arts and crafts, treasure hunt, henna, face painting, gym, boxing, sports, traditional sweet tasting and much more.
We wanted to capture as much Bengali culture as much as possible, so we had a full traditional Bengali menu being served from the café.
Thank you to everyone who came along – we had a fantastic day and hope you did too!
