https://www.mahdloyz.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Design-our-minibus.png will extend all memberships for young people who are currently members by 6 months, after the disruption caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Youth Zone was forced to close as the country locked down in response to Covid-19, and young people were unable to access the broad range of activities and support sessions that the charity offers. Mahdlo will also be waiving the usual 50p entrance fee for access to sessions at the Youth Zone in September and October to ensure that everyone can come along, catch up with friends, and enjoy themselves.
Since July, as lockdown restrictions are began to lift, Mahdlo has already started to welcome young people back into the building, attending support sessions with qualified youth workers, as well as enjoying the Summer weather with the charity’s annual Holiday Zone offer. Rigorous measures were introduced to ensure that young people were kept safe and healthy, including social distancing rules, staggered start times for sessions, and the creation of social bubbles for visitors to the centre.
Lucy Lees, Interim CEO at https://www.mahdloyz.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Design-our-minibus.png, said: “It has been a tough few months as we have adapted to the ‘new normal’ after the lockdown. But with these changes, and with young people’s memberships extended, they’ll be able to enjoy all the benefits of their Mahdlo membership for even longer.
“We cannot wait to start welcoming young people back to Mahdlo as lockdown restrictions lift further – we’ve had a brilliant Holiday Zone this Summer, it’s been amazing to finally have smiling young people back in the building and enjoying themselves!”
