A thought provoking and inspiring morning
We will be hosting our first face to face Business Breakfast in 2021 on 14th September between 8:30am and 10:30am.
For the first time in over 18 months guests will be able to enjoy breakfast whilst networking and hear from another hugely inspirational speaker.
Chairman of Beaverbrooks, Mark Addlestone OBE DL, will discussing a topic close to his heart, exploring whether it is possible or desirable to integrate philanthropy and values in the corporate world.
Claire Crossfield, Fundraising Manager said:
We’re looking forward to welcoming Mark to Mahdlo and seeing new and familiar faces. We’ve been waiting a long time to welcome people back through our doors. As a charity having a speaker like Mark discussing philanthropy and the impact the company has made to organisations like ours is fantastic.
Mark told us
Beaverbrooks is particularly proud of its very special Culture that encourages its colleagues to communicate in an open and honest way. The Company has a very strong emphasis on charity and community and donates 20% of its retained profits annually. Since the year 2000, The Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust has donated more than £16.5 million to over 750 charities.
The event is just £10 to attend or FREE for Mahdlo Patrons with all proceeds from the event being used to deliver workshops to support young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
Lucy Lees, CEO at Mahdlo added
It’s been a horrific 16 months for us all, young people in Oldham have disproportionally felt the full force of the impact the Pandemic has had. We’ve seen an decrease in young people’s aspirations, hopes and dreams for the future, an increase in concern about their education and a significant increase in poor mental health and wellbeing. Therefore, any money raised through this event will have a huge impact on so many young people.
