Leaf your troubles behind and go on a hike this July as the Three Peaks of Saddleworth, sponsored by KG Construction, returns for 2023! Get your walking boots on and put your best foot forward on Saturday 1st July. Actions peak louder than words, and last year more than £11,000 was raised by people like you to raise aspirations and create new opportunities for young people in Oldham, Saddleworth and the surrounding areas. We will again be taking on the local landmarks of Pots and Pans, Indian’s Head and Wharmton Hill. The 15-mile route will be challenging but rewarded by some incredible views of Oldham and beyond…just as long as it’s not raining! This year we’ve got three ticket options as we open the walk up to more people than ever before. Take a look down below for more information.
In return for signing up for the challenge, you will receive a commemorative t-shirt, breakfast, picnic and refreshments along the route, and post-walk food at The Royal George. You will also receive support for your fundraising efforts, including help with setting up your fundraising page, social media banners, sponsorship forms, etc. We recommend you head over to Give As You Live to set up your fundraising page now, you’ll need the link before you book your tickets. Just click the green “start fundraising” button. Last year more than £6,749 was raised through the amazing fundraising efforts of our friends and supporters, can you help us beat that this year? By setting up a fundraising page we’d love it if you could commit to raising £50 in sponsorship. It might not seem like a lot but if everybody who joined us last year did that we’d raise a minimum of £7,500 – half way to our £15,000 sponsorship goal for 2023! Give As You Live is the fundraising website we’ve chosen as it has the lowest fees, so more of your donations make it to young people. If you have any questions or would like support, please email us.
For the first time we’re opening The Three Peaks of Saddleworth up to other charity fundraisers! For a small fee that covers your breakfast, picnic and refreshments, as well as post-walk food, you’re welcome to raise funds for a charity of your choosing and join us on an incredible walk!
If you just want to walk and not worry about having to raise money in sponsorships that’s fine too, you’re more than welcome to come along for the day – you still get all the food and benefits!
You can book as many tickets as you want, from one to a million (although the queue for breakfast might get a bit long if you do that!) and you can choose any combination of the three options available. So if you want to raise money for Mahdlo and your friend wants to raise money for a charity close to their heart, that’s absolutely possible. Once you’ve ordered your ticket you will receive an email asking you a few questions relating to your health, if you answer YES to any of these questions please seek advice from your doctor before proceeding. Please make sure you enter the correct email address for everyone who’s coming on the walk, if you’re booking for more than just yourself. That way we’ll make sure they get the email too and everyone is safe. Note that this is not a marshalled event and you are responsible for your own health, safety and wellbeing at all times. Mahdlo Youth Zone will not accept any responsibility for any injury caused to yourself or others and for any loss or damage to property or personal effects.
