Make a difference this Christmas
This festive season Mahdlo is aiming to make a difference to hundreds of young people and their families and we need your help!
Mahdlo is based in Oldham Town Centre and recently Oldham has been recognised as being in the top 5% of the most deprived areas in the UK. This Christmas is going to be extremely difficult for some families across the borough as they struggle to feed their families, heat their homes and pay their bills. Our goal is to bring smiles to the faces of as many young people as possible by providing them with the luxuries we take for granted at Christmas.
By making a donation you can help us provide food hampers, pyjamas and free membership to support a young person and their family. Supporting our Christmas appeal will also allow us to continue our free family Christmas dinner. Taking place on Sunday 15th December at Mahdlo, families will be invited to celebrate Christmas early at our Christmas dinner. Over 200 people will gather for a Christmas dinner, a visit from Santa and to play family-friendly games. Giving families an opportunity to have fun and connect with others, joining together to celebrate Christmas and forget about all the financial pressures the festive season brings.
Struggling to find a gift for someone who has everything? Why not sponsor a hamper or pyjamas on their behalf and help a family in need. In return we will give you a thank you voucher to demonstrate your support and impact to Mahdlo!

Shop & Drop
Make a difference this Christmas and give a gift that will make a young person’s Christmas that extra special.
We are asking for donations of food, pyjamas (sizes 8+) and Christmas wrapping products to make Christmas extra special for those children who may not experience a ‘typical’ Christmas.
When you are doing your shopping we would be extremely grateful if you could pick up an extra item or two to donate:
- Sweet bags
- Hot chocolate
- Marshmallows
- Biscuits
- Crisp/Pringles
- Chocolate Coins
- Mince Pies
- Christmas Crackers
- Selection Boxes
- Pyjamas (sizes 8+)

Fundraise for Mahdlo this Festive Season
Looking for fun and easy ways to fundraise, look no further, Mahdlo has you covered!
Christmas Fundraising Ideas:
- Instead of swapping Christmas Cards this year why not make a donation?
- Organise a Christmas themed bake sale.
- Host a Christmas movie night and ask your friends to make a donation the price of a cinema ticket.
- Hold a decorate you desk competition and ask for a donation to enter.
- Festive fancy dress or jumper day.
- Take on an advent challenge! Try a daily challenge on the run up to Christmas, for example running 5k everyday or giving up chocolate (we know which one will be the hardest).

Spotlight
On Wednesday 9th October the Mahdlo team kickstarted our Christmas appeal with a pyjama day. Staff were encouraged to wear their comfy clothes to work and bring a pair of PJ’s or make a donation towards helping our young people this Christmas.
The whole team got behind the campaign and in total donated 32 pairs pyjamas!
