Mahdlo Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art multi-million Pound location providing young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, engaging and exciting opportunities to try something new, seven days a week.
We’ve got incredible facilities including a 3G Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) pitch climbing wall, boxing gym, three court sports hall, sensory room, fully equipped gym including weightlifting equipment, recreation area and dance, arts, music and media suites and much more.
The role
Working with our district team you will provide outreach and targeted activities in detached youth centres across the Borough of Oldham.
Using your professional youth work experience you’ll be delivering a range of exciting programmes to children and young people that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities, in line with the Mahdlo key themes; Get Sorted (personal development, crime prevention and health and wellbeing) and Get Connected (leadership, volunteering and citizenship);
We are looking to recruit two Youth Workers to join our successful district team to work in the Mahdlo Hub and District Provisions.
The ideal candidate will have:
- a qualification recognised by the JNC for Youth and Community Work
- experience of face to face youth work delivery and will be confident in working with and managing children and young people (8-19 years old both in groups and individually)
- experience supporting young people to develop their social education by providing programmes of engaging an exciting activities
- a commitment to personal and professional development
We are recruiting two Youth Worker roles:
- Role 1: 5 hours per week, £10.70 per hour
- Role 2: 7.5 hours per week, £10.70 per hour
